Prayer & Mass intentions

At St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish – Muyeye, we believe that no one should carry their joys, burdens, hopes, or sorrows alone. The parish is a praying community, and one of the ways we live this calling is by bringing personal and communal intentions before God through prayer and the Holy Eucharist.

Parishioners and visitors are welcome to present intentions for thanksgiving, healing, peace, guidance, special needs, examinations, family situations, the sick, the deceased, and other personal concerns. In this way, the parish accompanies the faithful not only in public worship, but also in the deeper intentions of everyday life.

Prayer Intentions

The parish sources indicate that prayer intentions may be entrusted to the wider prayer life of the community in a number of ways. A special intentions box is placed at the Marian Grotto, where the faithful can write their intentions and leave them for prayer. These intentions are remembered in communal devotion, especially during Rosary prayer.

The parish also encourages a spirit of mutual intercession. Prayer for one another is part of the life of the Church, and the faithful are invited to bring before God both personal needs and the needs of others with trust, humility, and hope.

Mass Intentions

A Mass intention may be offered for a particular need or person, including thanksgiving, the repose of the soul of a loved one, a birthday, an anniversary, healing, or another special intention. The parish sources state that such intentions are ordinarily scheduled through the parish office, and that the priest applies the Mass for that intention.

Mass intentions help unite personal prayer with the prayer of the whole Church. They are a meaningful way to bring one’s needs, gratitude, remembrance, and hopes to the altar of the Lord.

Prayer Support in Times of Need

The parish sources also preserve a practice of urgent intercessory support through a parish prayer circle. This reflects the parish’s desire to respond quickly and compassionately when families face illness, bereavement, emergency situations, or other serious needs. In this way, the parish remains a community that walks with its people in both joy and hardship.
