St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish – Muyeye is part of a wider communion of Church institutions, religious communities, and mission partners that support our life of faith and service. These relationships strengthen our pastoral mission, deepen our Catholic identity, and help us respond more effectively to the spiritual and social needs of the people we serve.
Diocesan Communion
Our parish belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Malindi and shares fully in the pastoral life, vision, and mission of the local Church. As part of the Diocese, we work in communion with the Bishop, diocesan structures, and neighboring parishes in the service of evangelization, sacramental life, peace-building, and integral human development.
Jesuit Affiliation
St. Charles Lwanga Parish is under the care of the Jesuits Eastern Africa Province. This affiliation gives the parish a distinctive Ignatian character, seen especially in our emphasis on prayer, discernment, youth formation, education, social concern, and service of the poor. Through this Jesuit connection, the parish also shares in a wider network of spiritual, pastoral, and missionary support.
Religious Collaboration
The parish also collaborates with other religious communities in the service of God’s people. In a particular way, the source documents note collaboration with the Franciscan Sisters in pastoral care, especially through service connected with Msoloni Outstation. The wider Malindi Church context has also allowed cordial relationships and mutual support with other Catholic religious communities serving in the region.
Mission Communities and Parish Bonds
Our partnerships extend to the mission communities that form part of parish life, especially our outstations and Small Christian Communities. These are not separate from the parish mission, but living expressions of it. Through pastoral visits, liturgy, catechesis, development support, and shared formation, the parish continues to strengthen communion across all its communities.
Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations
Serving within a diverse social and religious environment, the parish values respectful relationships with other Christian communities and with our Muslim neighbors. The source documents highlight a commitment to peace-building, dialogue, and collaboration for the common good, especially where faith communities can work together in harmony, mutual respect, and care for society.
Friends, Benefactors, and Mission Support
The parish is grateful for the friendship and generosity of benefactors, visitors, and mission partners who have supported its growth over time. The attached sources mention support received through Jesuit networks, friendships with fellow parish communities, and assistance connected to parish projects and development initiatives.
