Finding God in All Things

One of the most beautiful gifts of being part of a Jesuit parish is learning that God is not found only in extraordinary moments. He is also present in the ordinary movements of daily life. At St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish – Muyeye, this truth has become an important part of our spiritual identity: we are invited to find God in all things.

This does not mean that every day is easy or that every experience is clear. Rather, it means that God can be encountered in prayer and work, in joy and struggle, in service and silence. A mother preparing food for her family, a teacher guiding children, a farmer tending the soil, a student studying faithfully, a catechist serving quietly, or a parent making sacrifices for the good of the home — all these can become places of grace when offered to God with love.

To live this way changes the meaning of ordinary life. It teaches us that holiness is not reserved for a few special people. Holiness begins in attention, gratitude, and faithfulness. It grows when we pause to ask: Where was God with me today? How did I respond to His presence? What was He inviting me to see, to love, or to change?

This spirituality is especially meaningful in parish life because it helps us connect worship and everyday living. The God we meet at Mass is the same God who walks with us in the kitchen, at school, in the market, in the office, and on the road. When we learn to notice Him there, life itself becomes prayer.

Source basis: the attached parish sources explicitly connect the parish’s Jesuit identity with “finding God in all things,” everyday offering of ordinary work to God, gratitude, and parish formation in Ignatian spirituality.
