At St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish – Muyeye, our mission is not limited to worship within the church building. The parish sources present our community as one that seeks to proclaim the Gospel through prayer, education, compassionate service, social responsibility, and practical concern for human dignity. In this way, apostolic mission is part of the ordinary life of the parish.
As a Jesuit parish, we understand mission in an integral way. We seek to evangelize, educate, and empower. This means caring for the spiritual life of the people while also responding to the realities of poverty, exclusion, limited access to education, environmental challenges, and the daily struggles faced by families in Muyeye and the surrounding communities.
The attached parish materials show that this missionary spirit is expressed through schools and formation programs, care for children and vulnerable persons, support for livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and works of mercy directed toward those most in need. These efforts are not separate from the Gospel; they are part of how the parish seeks to live the Gospel in deeds as well as words.

Mission in the Jesuit Spirit
The parish sources repeatedly connect these apostolic missions to the Jesuit identity of St. Charles Lwanga Parish. Education, youth care, service of the poor, interreligious harmony, and social justice are presented not as optional extras, but as central parts of the parish’s way of serving Christ. This reflects a vision of mission that is prayerful, practical, and rooted in the dignity of every human person.
Serving the Whole Person
Our apostolic work seeks to serve the whole person and the whole community. This includes helping children learn, strengthening families, accompanying the sick and vulnerable, promoting peace and mutual respect, caring for the environment, and encouraging practical hope where people face hardship. In all these ways, the parish tries to become a sign of God’s love in everyday life.
